This time of year, we all seem to crave the comforts of home. The temperatures drop and it gets dark sooo early…and all we want to do is get comfy on the sofa!

We want to share with you some simple tips and tricks to help you create that cozy home vibe.

And that cozy feel is welcoming…perfect for this time of year as you entertain house guests and visitors.

Soft Layers

Soft Layers… a few throw pillows and a comfy blanket on the sofa or your favorite chair is a great place to start. And while you are at it… do the same in the bedrooms. Cozy for the win!

Include Rugs

Underfoot, rugs will create warmth and feel great on your feet. Soft area rugs on hardwood or tile floors work great, but don’t be afraid to layer a beautiful rug on top of the carpet. This makes a big difference in creating that cozy feel.

Add Texture

Designers love to add texture to a room. Textures can be anything from linens, decor, wall art, baskets, and lighting. Think about adding an organic feel… plants and flowers go a long way. In a big rattan basket, store extra blankets for cozying up on the sofa.

Luxurious Lighting

Lighting can really dictate the feel of your home. While overhead lighting typically is cold and harsh, beautiful lamps and sconces will soften the room and add a warm glow.

Add a tray

Add a tray on your coffee table or console to group things like picture frames, candles, a vase,  and a remote. It adds another layer to your space and is functional as well.

Last but certainly not least…

A comfy sofa or loveseat is a must!

There is nothing better than lighting a candle and curling up on your sofa to watch your favorite show.
